Why I love Cibo Delivery

December 27, 2023

WHY I LOVE CIBO DELIVERY

I am taking time out from my hectic holiday schedule to commend Cibo delivery for a superb performance especially during the peak holiday season. Not all restaurants can claim to be as consistent in the quality of food they serve especially during the peak holiday season, when demand for their food is at the highest. I've been a customer of Cibo delivery the past 2 years and have ordered pasta from them frequently, both during peak and non-peak seasons.  The quality of their pasta, both in flavour and the texture of the noodles has consistently been excellent, whether or not demand is high, unlike in some restaurants where quality goes down when customer demand goes up. And the other amazing thing is that even though there's a time gap between food being cooked, delivered then eaten, the quality of food stays the same. How? They are thoughtful enough to pack additional sauce and pasta water to the pasta you order to anticipate the possibility of the pasta absorbing all the sauce and drying it up.

This is why they are my go-to food delivery during peak season important occasions like Christmas day and New Year's day because they are extremely reliable.

To recap, this has been my experience with Cibo delivery :

1. The quality of their pasta is consistently excellent despite heavy demand.

2. They are open and deliver during Christmas day and New Year's day.

3. It's easy to order online and pay at their site.

4. Orders are confirmed via call to make sure they get your orders accurately.

5. They have their own delivery service so you don't need to look for a rider during the peak holiday season.

6. They text you when the rider is out for delivery to assure you it will arrive on time.

7. The food you order arrives on time.

Take note that the branch assigned to service my location is Cibo Eastwood.

I usually order Farfalle ala Genovese, Penne al Telefono and Linguine alla Ghiotta and Tagliata di Manzo

What wine to pair with the Signature Pork Ribs of Blake's Wings and Steaks

August 4, 2023

WHAT WINE TO PAIR WITH THE SIGNATURE PORK RIBS OF BLAKE'S WINGS AND STEAKS

Last night's meal was superb! I simply must mention my discovery of the perfect pairing of Blake's Wings and Steaks signature pork ribs with the 2019 La Crema Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir.

We know about the congruent and contrasting pairings of wine and food. This is a congruent pairing of flavors. They enhance and amplify each other's flavors. You should try it!

MY REVIEW OF BLAKE'S SIGNATURE PORK RIBS:

Very tender, juicy and tasty, with a hint of smoke. The flavors are so well balanced, you can't stop eating it. It never overwhelms. The corn and carrot siding is a perfect accompaniment and goes very well with it.

The small party tray comes with 16 pieces of meaty ribs and could feed 5-8 people.

I ordered it online for delivery and service was very efficient. It arrived on time.

MY REVIEW OF THE 2019 LA CREMA SONOMA COAST PINOT NOIR:

Minerals, moss and cherry on the nose. A burst of light sweet cherries on the palate. Light and refreshing with a hint of oak. Sweet long finish.

Shake Shack Manila (Megamall branch): My Review

August 20, 2022

Shake Shack Manila (Megamall branch): My Review

The first time I tried Shake Shack was at Shake Shack in Herald Square in New York. That was 3 years ago. At this weekend's movie mania, we decided to try Shake Shack in Manila (Megamall branch). We all agreed that the Shack Burger in New York tasted so much better. Or is it the ambience of being in New York that added to the flavor. 🤔

After tasting the much hyped Shack Burger, I remain a Burger King fan. Just like when tasting wine or whiskey, the first taste is always definitive of the impression it makes. When I tasted Burger King again after the lockdown ended, the first bite was so wonderful I couldn't help but exclaim at how good it was. My first bite of Shack Burger was just ok.

We ordered Shack burger, Double Shack burger, Dark meat hot chicken and plain fries at Shake Shack Megamall. The wonderful Whopper Jr I mentioned above came from Burger King Marcos Highway near Vermont subdivision.

YOSHINOYA EASTWOOD: MY REVIEW

YOSHINOYA EASTWOOD:

MY REVIEW

Craving some Gyudon today and remembering the meals we had at Yoshinoya Japan. Our first meal upon arrival at Tokyo in 2018 was at the Yoshinoya Narita Airport branch.

The newly opened branch of Yoshinoya Eastwood where we ordered our meal today didn't disappoint. It brings back memories of meals we had when we visited Japan before the pandemic. We ordered Gyudon and Gyudon with cheese via grab food. We also had red ginger and togarashi/7 spice as condiments. I usually get Gyudon with cheese and it's as flavorful as the one I ate in Japan.

Photos below show what we ordered in Yoshinoya Eastwood in Manila today and Yoshinoya in Narita Airport, Japan in 2018. Check it out.

My tip: If grab food does not deliver Yoshinoya in your area, put an address that is near the branch location and choose self-pickup. This branch allows purchase by self-pickup via grab food. Then use grab express to pick up the food to deliver to your place.

RODDEEDED PHILIPPINES: Superb Thai Food in Manila

RODDEEDED PHILIPPINES:
Superb Thai Food in Manila

I have yet to return to Bangkok since the pandemic started. Craving for authentic Thai food, to my delight I found Roddeeded in Manila. I never tasted Roddeeded in Bangkok. They are said to be famous for the beef noodle soup. Instead what I ordered for delivery are (1) Pad Thai, (2) Green Chicken Curry and (3) Larb Moo salad. They were all as great as the food we tasted during visits in Bangkok.

Thai food is very spicy but it is unique in that the spiciness comes with so much flavor. The "hotness" and the flavor reminds me of the quality of food we ate at Bangkok Bold Kitchen in Thailand in 2019. My standard for good Pad Thai is Thipsamai in Bangkok. And Roddeeded's Pad Thai didn't disappoint. The Larb Moo salad reminds me of the Larb we ate in Luang Prabang. Larb is apparently both a Thai and a Laosian food. And I don't need to rave about the Green Chicken Curry. You need to taste it for yourself. If you're not into spicy food, you can choose "Manila style" when you order. I chose "Bangkok style" because we like it spicy.

We ordered for delivery through roddeededphilippines.pickup.ph. You can order up to 7 days in advance, and select the dispatch time from 11am to 8pm. Payment online is via card (mastercard or visa), GCash or Grab pay. They were efficient and on time when they delivered the food and quality was maintained. Alternatively, you can also order via Facebook messenger.

BEST TAKOYAKI IN ANTIPOLO

BEST TAKOYAKI IN ANTIPOLO

We found the best takoyaki in Antipolo that's comparable to the takoyaki we ate in Osaka. It's sold by Tako Tako Queen - Dalig branch. We tried other branches but only the Dalig branch meets ourexpectations. We usually order the 15 pcs Original Octo Bits (290 pesos) and 15 pcs Baby Octo (500 pesos). You can have it delivered through foodpanda or pick it up at 8 M. L Quezon Extension St., C Nail Salon, Brgy Dalig, Antipolo City.

My Review of MA MON LUK SIOPAO DELIVERY: How to Order and What to Order

My Review of MA MON LUK SIOPAO DELIVERY: How to Order and What to Order

WHAT I ORDERED

SPECIAL ASADO SIOPAO

This is their best seller. This is also our favorite. The difference between the regular and special asado siopao is the presence of salted duck egg.

BOLA BOLA SIOPAO

LARGE MAMI

You can skip ordering the large mami. Not worth the price or the calories.

HOW TO ORDER

The only way you can have this delivered is by grab pabili or the lalamove purchase service. I used the grab pabili service to buy the food. No need to call Ma Mon Luk prior to booking the grab pabili service. Just check if Ma Mon Luk is open when you order. I don't think the app reflects opening hours in the grab pabili ssrvicelike grab food.

Conclusion

RAMEN NAGI'S HOT NAGI-TO-GO ROCKS!

October 6, 2021

RAMEN NAGI'S HOT NAGI-TO-GO ROCKS!

Ramen Nagi released a new ready-to-eat ramen for takeout. Unlike the frozen version that is ready-to-cook, this ready-to-eat ramen is as delicious as eating their ramen while dining in. The ramen was delivered to us fresh and hot. The broth was delivered in a separate pouch from the meat, vegetables and noodle. You pour the broth into the bowl. Then heat it in the microwave to make it as hot as the ones served in the restaurant. Voila! It's like eating the ramen in the Ramen Nagi restaurant.

Hopefully, when they successfully launch it nationwide, they will provide the further option to customize. We tried requesting they add several levels of spiciness and they obliged. We received the ramen spicier than the usual chef's recommendation.

Note: I got my ramen at the Ayala Malls Feliz branch.

HOW TO ORDER

I ordered ramen from the Ramen Nagi website at www.ramennagi.com.ph

My tip: Although they do not customize, I still tried to make a request to increase the level of spiciness by filling up the notes box at checkout and indicating how many levels of spiciness I wish to add. They obliged. The ramen they delivered had more fire sauce.

PACKAGING

The ramen arrived in a paper bag.

The ramen condiments: noodles, vegetables, meat were contained in a microwaveable bowl. The hot broth is in a separate pouch so the noodles remain fresh and not soggy unlike if it was delivered with the broth mixed in already. There is a 4 hour time stamp within which to consume the meal to guarantee freshness. Chopsticks, a spoon and napkin is included.

HOW TO MIX

Open the lid of the bowl.
This bowl is the Red King without the broth.

Pour the broth into the bowl. As you can see, the pouch is very well made. The left edge is narrowly shaped for easy pouring when you cut through it.

Red King with the broth poured into it.
If you wish a hotter version, you can just put it in the microwave.
The ramen comes with a microwaveable bowl.
